There is a plan running underneath all of it. Matthew grows disillusioned with the squabbling at his own church so Whit sends him to see the very first one, in the book of Acts. Emily meets Whit as a boy, Barrett discovers what three dollars of tithe can actually accomplish and Jason Whittaker comes home to Odyssey hoping for peace and quiet. He will not be getting any.
