Tom Riley
Tom Riley is an apple farmer and one of the most respected men in Odyssey. He owns a farm and orchard outside town, has served as the town's mayor, and now runs the Timothy Center, a retreat for children on his land. The center is named for his son, Timmy, who drowned as a boy while saving a friend's life. Tom's wife, Agnes, lives at Hillingdale Haven, a hospital for troubled patients, and he remains devoted to her. His closest friend is John Avery Whittaker, and the two share a deep Christian faith. Warm, plainspoken, and firm when he needs to be, Tom teaches Sunday school, coaches kids' sports teams, and is known for showing mercy - and for making sure its lessons stick.
