Marsha (b)

Marsha is a young schoolgirl in Odyssey who is often found at Whit's End, usually with a question or a school assignment in hand. She is curious and eager, with a lively interest in history and stories. She loves Longfellow's poem about Paul Revere's ride, and Whit once showed her that the true events of that night were even better than the verses. When she needed a dramatic rescue for a school report, Bernard told her the story of Daniel and the fiery furnace, with Eugene supplying facts and dates. Her habit of digging into her history book has proved useful too. She once identified a mysterious cabin-dwelling stranger by finding Johnny Appleseed's real name in its pages. She knows Connie Kendall, who once helped with her class picnic.
