Julie Zeeke

Julie Zeeke is a schoolgirl in Odyssey, part of the crowd of kids who gather at Whit's End and attend Odyssey Middle School. She is a friend of Dwayne Oswald, exploring caves with him near Trickle Lake and trying, awkwardly, to encourage him when his confidence flags. Her closest friendship is with Heather, who counts Julie as her one real friend even when popularity schemes strain the bond. Julie is well-meaning but imperfect. She joins a kids' chore strike, struggles to tell hard truths, and once helps plot revenge on a clique before learning to check her own friendliness first. She has a tender conscience, too. When a quiet classmate dies, she alone mourns him, visits his grieving mother, and afterward makes a point of reaching out to lonely newcomers.
