Gunner Martin

Gunner Martin is a rebellious sixteen-year-old in Odyssey who covers his insecurity with a thick layer of bravado. He plays in Jules Kendall's garage band, where his habit of hogging the credit for the group's success causes friction with his bandmates - at one gig, a backstage blowup over exactly that gets the whole band fired. Restless and reckless, Gunner dreams of bigger things, like making it to Los Angeles, and his taste for speed behind the wheel of a car matches his impulsive streak. His most important relationship is with Jules herself, whom he dates, and though faith is foreign territory for him, he proves capable of wondering aloud whether it might be time to start praying when life pushes him to the edge.
