Judge Abernathy
Abernathy is a justice of the peace in Odyssey. Little is recorded about him beyond his office, and he plays no wide part in the daily life of the town. He entered its history when Jason Whittaker and Tasha Forbes arrived determined to be married within a day. Their plans first centered on a ceremony at Whit's End. But when Jack declined Jason's request to serve as best man, the angry groom took down the judge's address instead. The couple then set out for Abernathy's home, intending to have him marry them on the spot. He is known chiefly through that role, a quiet official whom hurried couples seek out when they want a wedding without delay.
