Wendy Zannuck

Wendy Zannuck is a withdrawn middle-school camper who expects every effort to end badly. Her father sends her to the Timothy Center, where Connie Kendall discovers that she enjoys cooking and encourages her to bake for the group. Spoiled brownie ingredients make the campers sick, and a second attempt at cookies fails when Wendy confuses salt and sugar. Humiliated by Liz's teasing, Wendy stops speaking to Connie and seems impossible to reach. Yet she quietly watches how Connie responds to a week of pranks and disappointment. When Liz starts a food fight, Wendy refuses to join, helps with the cleanup, and tells Tom Riley what happened.
