Victoria Jamison

Victoria Jamison is the daughter of a wealthy businessman and shares Wooton Bassett's affection for an unusual underwater singing group. Their meeting at a charity auction appears to offer the beginning of a romance. Wooton enjoys her company, but learns that Victoria does not share his Christian faith and decides that difference matters. The encounter is also part of a business arrangement created by their fathers. Winston Bassett expects Wooton to marry Victoria so the families can secure a merger and Wooton can return to the family circle. Victoria becomes caught in a plan built more around corporate advantage than freely chosen affection. Her similarity to Wooton makes the offer tempting, but their differing beliefs help him recognize that compatibility involves more than shared tastes or parental approval.
