Vic Hamilton

Vic Hamilton is an escaped prisoner who insists he was framed for bank robbery by teller Brad Diamond. While fleeing, he risks capture to dive into a dangerous river and save Connie Kendall from drowning. Fearful after learning she spoke with police, Vic forces her into a car and tells his story, then releases her and pursues revenge. His old friend Officer Tim Hartzel no longer believes him, but a bird watcher's camera proves Brad lied about their meeting. Vic corners Brad on a boat with anger close to destroying his chance for justice. Connie appeals over the radio to the man who saved her, and Vic surrenders as his case is reopened. Desperate and volatile, he still retains the capacity for courage and restraint.
