King Solomon

King Solomon was a ruler of great wisdom, wealth, and power who built the First Temple in Jerusalem. When God offered him a gift, Solomon asked for wisdom and became known as the wisest man alive. Yet knowledge did not make him immune to temptation. He married hundreds of foreign wives, built temples for their gods, and eventually joined in their idol worship. His disobedience brought judgment, and his family lost the united kingdom he had ruled. Solomon's life reveals the difference between knowing what is right and continuing to choose it. His extraordinary gifts and achievements could not protect him when he stopped guarding his devotion to God. He stands as a warning that temptation must be resisted throughout a person's life.
