Smith

Smith is one of two bootleggers running an illegal still from a concealed cabin near Trickle Lake. He and his partner Jones use a cave, hidden road, motorized gate, and delivery van to keep their operation out of sight. When private detective Harlow Doyle and John Whittaker discover their activity, the criminals kidnap both men and leave them bound beside the still. Smith and Jones plan to pack their boxes and escape, even after Whit warns that kidnapping has made their crimes far more serious. Their secrecy fails when Lawrence Hodges and Eugene Meltsner find the hidden entrance. Eugene disables both bootleggers with an accidentally created perfume that puts anyone who smells it to sleep.
