Roy Blaysig

Roy Blaysig is a pilot who carries Eugene and Katrina Meltsner toward an isolated village in Central Africa's Ashanti region. He warns that the place is cursed, trapped between cliffs and a dangerous river, and claims visitors never return. Because he cannot land nearby, Roy plans a parachute drop for the couple and their communications equipment. Neither passenger has jumped before, and his preparations do little to reassure them. He even discovers one parachute is broken moments before departure and simply hands over the remaining gear. Roy arranges to collect them from a field one week later, then leaves them to face the village's fears and isolation. Practical about the terrain but deeply superstitious, he treats the mission as both an aviation challenge and a journey into forbidden country.
