Rahab
Rahab was an innkeeper in Jericho who believed Israel's God was the true God. When two Israelite spies entered the doomed city, she hid them beneath stalks of flax on her roof and protected their mission. In exchange, she asked that her family be spared when Israel attacked. The spies instructed her to hang a scarlet rope from her window as the sign of their promise. Rahab kept the secret even while the people of Jericho mocked Israel's silent marches around the walls. On the seventh day, the walls collapsed at the sound of trumpets and a great shout, but her marked home remained standing. Rahab and her family were led out safely because she acted on courageous faith.
