Philo Sanderson

Philo Sanderson is a practical joker who declares himself the best in Odyssey. He surprises people at Whit's End with exploding malts, hidden spray bottles, and any trick that leaves someone else startled. A mysterious note warning that a prank will strike before week's end changes his confidence into six days of suspicion. Philo distrusts food, water, and everyone around him while waiting for the promised trick. His own trap eventually backfires and covers him in blue paint, yet he proudly insists nobody fooled him. Tom Riley then suggests that making Philo nervous all week may have been the real joke. The possibility leaves the town prankster wondering whether his cleverest opponents never needed a device at all.
