Omer

Omer was a gentle East African boy who escaped from rebels attempting to turn displaced children into soldiers. Fleeing barefoot with young Joseph, he endured hunger, sickness, and armed pursuers across a harsh wilderness. Omer marked their path with stones and trusted God to guide them as He had guided the Israelites out of Egypt. After Amina joined them, his stories of Moses kept hope alive while the children searched for a distant refugee camp. Omer grew weaker during the journey but continued encouraging his friends. He died within sight of the tents, confident that he was going to an even better promised land. His faith remained with Joseph, helping him survive loss and later bring healing to others.
