Officer Cliffe

Officer Cliffe is a careful Connellsville police officer who stops John Avery Whittaker for driving 56 miles per hour in a 45-mile-per-hour zone. Whit's speedometer appears to show a legal speed, but Cliffe trusts his calibrated radar and issues a ticket. The officer is proven correct when Whit discovers that oversized replacement tires have made the car travel faster than the gauge reports. Cliffe later stops Whit again, this time to provide a safe escort while the inaccurate tires are replaced. His watchful eye also catches a loose license plate and cracked taillight that need repair. Exacting and persistent, Officer Cliffe can make an ordinary drive feel exhausting, but his attention remains focused on genuine road safety.
