Morton Dunkey
Morton Dunkey is an attorney with the unusually repetitive firm Dunkey, Dunkey, Dunkey, Dunkey and McCormick. He identifies himself as the third Dunkey. Morton travels to Pecanburg to deliver important news to struggling actor Edwin Blackgaard about the will of Edwin's late brother, Regis. The will gives Edwin ownership of the Electric Palace in Odyssey, but its terms leave little room for refusal. Edwin cannot sell the property outside the family, and rejecting it would end the trust that supports his mother in a nursing home. Morton's brief legal visit forces Edwin to face a difficult inheritance and return to the town he had fled.
