Mac

Mac is the plumber who enters the Washington family's new house under the pretense of repairing a serious leak. He is actually Ernie McAlister's great-nephew and believes Ernie's hidden fortune should belong to the family. Mac searches bedrooms, removes an antique mirror to reach a safe, drugs Ed and Elaine's water, ties up Marvin and Tamika, and brings explosives to force the vault open. He also recognizes that Lester's repeated number may be the combination Ernie entrusted to him. Lester overcomes his fear of the upstairs room, distracts Mac with money, and lures him into a secret tunnel. Calculating and dangerous, Mac uses ordinary service work as cover for burglary. His greed turns a plumbing visit into a threat against the children and the vulnerable man Ernie intended to protect.
