Lindy

Lindy is a frightened young runaway who believes she brings bad luck wherever she goes. Her mother's death and a series of failed foster placements have convinced her that every storm, accident, and broken dish must somehow be her fault. During a violent storm, she takes shelter in Ethel's diner with Connie and Joanne but tries to keep everyone at a distance. Connie creates a pretend Imagination Station from diner chairs and guides Lindy through the story of Noah, helping her see that hardship does not mean God hates her. When Lindy's worried foster mother arrives, she brings the assurance Lindy has long needed: the family wants her to stay. Lindy chooses to return home and risk being loved.
