Lindsey

Lindsey is a cheerful seventeen year old summer intern at Whit's End who stays with Connie Kendall. Her constant friendliness irritates Connie, who secretly turns their time together into a contest to prove which roommate can be nicer. Lindsey buys a betta fish named Kerplunk without reading how to care for it, then unknowingly adds a second fish that nearly causes disaster. Connie's competitive kindness becomes dangerous when she serves peanut butter pancakes without knowing Lindsey is allergic. After emergency medicine and honest guidance from Whit, Connie apologizes for treating differences like a rivalry. Lindsey remains warm and forgiving through the confusion. Her openhearted personality challenges Connie to practice genuine care instead of using kindness to win.
