Joktali

Joktali was a laborer in ancient Babel who secretly worshiped the true God under King Nimrod's oppressive rule. He warned Eugene to speak carefully and led him and Nathaniel through back alleys to a hidden gathering at Eber's home. Although Joktali had long endured forced labor and religious persecution, Nathaniel's outrage awakened his determination to resist. He gathered other believers and prepared an armed rescue when Eugene and Lillia were condemned to be sacrificed atop the tower. Eber and a mysterious messenger persuaded him to wait until the final moment for God to act. Joktali's restraint prevented bloodshed when the people's language suddenly divided, scattering the ceremony and freeing the prisoners without the planned attack.
