Jessica Mulligan

Jessica Mulligan is a young girl who lives with the Mulligan family on their animal-filled farm, home to kangaroos, ostriches, goats, and a baby elephant named Gus. She and her twin sister, Janelle, came to stay with the Mulligans while their mother had surgery, arriving with Whit. Jessica fears men, a fear that ran deep when she first joined the household. During a flood on the farm, she chased Samson, a runaway baby mountain goat, and was trapped by the rising water. She survived by leaping into Mike's arms, a jump that marked the beginnings of faith and trust for her. She has a lively, unpredictable streak, and keeps a collection of reptiles that she is happy to share at the dinner table.
