James Klinger

Reverend James Klinger was a circuit riding preacher in the Arizona territory who tried to live by the forgiveness he preached. With his friend Reese and a young woman named Nalicadaeh, he crossed the desert to find the ailing Apache chief Masai. Klinger then discovered that Masai possessed a necklace belonging to Klinger's mother, who had been killed years earlier. Faced with the man connected to his deepest loss, the preacher had to choose between revenge and mercy. He stood between Masai and an attacker named Pialsiney, preventing another killing and allowing the old chief to see one more sunrise. Klinger's costly compassion opened the way for Masai to ask about the God who teaches people to forgive.
