Dr. James Dobson

Dr. James Dobson is a psychologist, author, and radio host who unexpectedly arrives at Whit's End with no idea how he reached Odyssey. Connie does not recognize him, but Eugene immediately asks for professional help with their arguments. Dobson gently shows both young adults how pride keeps them from listening to one another. He also notices that Melanie is grieving because her best friend is moving away while her busy father has overlooked the depth of her pain. Dobson helps father and daughter talk honestly and reassures Melanie that God loves her even when love includes heartache. After touring Whit's End and its animated projects, he uses the Imagination Station for his unusual trip home.
