Jacob Arley

Jacob Arley is the ghost of Ebenezer Stooge's former business partner in a Thanksgiving retelling of a familiar Christmas tale. He appears on the night before the holiday, rattling a pocketful of coins. Each coin represents a blessing Jacob received but never thanked God for or shared with others. His haunting visit warns Stooge that wealth without gratitude has left him cold and miserable. Jacob announces that another spirit is coming to show Stooge what he has ignored. Though his own opportunity to change has passed, he uses his regret to awaken his old partner. Somber and burdened, Jacob introduces the lesson that blessings are not merely possessions to count. They are gifts to receive thankfully and use generously while there is still time.
