Henny
Henny is a talking toy chicken in a Twilife Zone story about the grip of addiction. Simon buys the strange toy from Russell even though he knows the deal is unwise. One pull of Henny's string soon becomes many, and Simon begins hiding the chicken from friends and family. Then Henny starts speaking without being pulled and demanding clothes, shoes, and money. Its requests grow until Simon fights Luella for the science club's locked cash box and hurts her. Shocked by what his attachment has made him do, he throws Henny into a garbage truck and asks forgiveness. The chicken's voice remains tempting, however, and a stranger at the dump soon pulls its string again.
