Harvey Nelson

Harvey Nelson is Odyssey's city treasurer in Curt Stevens's anxious dream about becoming Mayor for a Day. He rushes into the mayor's office with a proposal from Acme Amalgamated and urges Curt to sign over land before a rival town attracts the company. Curt approves the agreement without reading it and accidentally gives away the property beneath Whit's End. When citizens protest and the scandal grows, Harvey suggests that government can simply bury the mistake because nothing ever changes. His cynical advice forces Curt to decide what leadership should accomplish. Rather than protect himself, Curt finds another site for Acme and insists that government ought to improve the community instead of hiding its failures.
