Goldie

Goldie is a miller's daughter with beautiful golden hair and a Scottish accent. Her father's foolish boast that she can spin straw into gold places her at the mercy of a greedy king. A strange little man performs the impossible task for her, first taking her necklace and ring, then demanding her future firstborn child. Goldie becomes queen and has a son named Bert, but the bargain returns to threaten them both. Given three days to guess the little man's name, she searches the kingdom until a helpful book reveals that he is Rumpelstiltskin. Goldie saves her child by recognizing and naming the evil before her. Her frightening bargain teaches her never to make a promise she cannot keep.
