Gary Burkhead

Gary Burkhead is Professor Stephen Charles's teaching assistant at a Chicago university. When Jason Whittaker and Eugene Meltsner arrive searching for Whit, Gary meets them in a laboratory that has been violently ransacked. He explains that Whit and Professor Charles had been followed while examining fragments of a possible Q document. The two scholars kept the parchment secret from police, believing too many people already knew about it. Gary also reports that one larger fragment visibly disturbed them before they vanished and apparently returned to the Middle East. His information confirms that Whit's archaeological find has drawn dangerous attention and is far more troubling than an ordinary academic discovery.
