Eric Von Warberg

Eric Von Warberg is Prince Roderick's scheming cousin and a member of Moldavia's parliament. He drugs the prince before the coronation, hoping Roderick's absence will create civil war and open a path to power. American writer James Armer, who looks exactly like the prince, secretly takes Roderick's place to keep the nation stable. Roderick initially refuses to believe his cousin is a traitor. Von Warberg exposes himself when he enters with a pistol, and James receives a knife wound while protecting the rightful ruler. The failed attack leaves no doubt about the conspiracy. Von Warberg is jailed, while Roderick takes his throne and the stranger who saved him asks for almost nothing in return.
