Elizabeth Trask

Elizabeth Trask is the sister of Dr. Trask and the daughter of Vera Trask. After her brother dies in prison, she contacts Penny Bassett about belongings left at his house. A locked studio reveals paintings he stole from students, erased signatures, and false claims of artistic talent. Elizabeth shares Penny's anger and encourages it, while Vera defends her son and treats Penny cruelly. The conflict exposes a family divided by grief, denial, and long hidden wrongdoing. Penny eventually returns with a photo album and tries to help mother and daughter speak honestly. Vera apologizes, but Elizabeth is not ready to forgive. Hurt and resentful, she shows how another person's sins can keep damaging a family unless truth and mercy interrupt the anger.
