Elizabeth Sparks

Elizabeth Sparks is a veterinarian who operates a cattle ranch in Uganda and serves two Karamojong tribes caught in a long cycle of raids and revenge. Her years of caring for their livestock have earned trust on both sides, even among armed warriors. Elizabeth treats sick cattle, protects travelers, and marks her truck with both tribes' horns so everyone recognizes her peaceful purpose. Whit helps her see that her calling may include making peace as well as healing animals. Though she initially considers that task impossible, Elizabeth risks organizing a conference where old wounds can be spoken and forgiveness requested. Practical, brave, and deeply committed to the people she serves, she uses ordinary acts of care to open the way toward reconciliation.
