Declan

Declan is an Odyssey student who wants revenge after a prankster hangs his gym pants in the school hallway. When Lou speaks about treating others as he would want to be treated, Declan twists the advice into permission to strike back. His first scheme sends the wrong student's homework out a window and lands him in detention. He next tries forgiveness, but only as a secret weapon meant to make his enemy feel guilty. The plan changes Declan instead. Letting go of revenge feels better than any successful prank, and he discovers that forgiveness is not another way to control someone. Impulsive and embarrassed, Declan learns to divide good advice rightly rather than forcing it to justify what he already wants.
