Chief Tom

Chief Tom is a tribal elder in Nikolai, Alaska, whose experience and steady judgment guide visitors during a dangerous winter storm. He warns that Air Rescue cannot search blindly and stops Lewis Scott from rushing unprepared into the wilderness after his missing son. Though initially wary of outsiders, Tom warms to ministry leader Will Baccarin after learning of his Tlingit roots and listens as the search plan takes shape. He quietly asks Will to temper Lewis's emotion and keep the desperate father safe on the trail. Later, Tom thanks Will for serving the village with honor and humility.
