Burger Blitzer is the unelected mayor of Muglueville in Jay Smouse's improvised Thanksgiving story. Recruited by the Scrunch into the League of Self-Seekers, he helps turn Thanksgiving into Thankstaking. Burger bans holiday foods, traditions, and prayers, expecting gratitude to disappear once government removes the familiar celebration. The Muglues continue singing and thanking God anyway, using five kernels of corn to remember beauty, grace, family, friendship, and freedom. Their joy makes Burger recognize that his own rules have cheated him out of a pleasant holiday. He joins the other villains in reconsidering their selfishness and helps carry the unrepentant Scrunch away for reform. His failed decree proves that true gratitude cannot be outlawed.
