Brayden

Brayden is a friendly Baltimore High School baseball player and Malcolm McCallum's stepson. Lonely for the dependable father he has always wanted, he quickly connects with Buck Meltsner, who understands that absence in his own life. A literature project brings the boys together, and Brayden welcomes Buck into the guarded mansion where his family lives. Their friendship is genuine, but Buck is secretly helping Jason Whittaker investigate whether someone in the household is selling government secrets. When the investigation ends in an arrest, Brayden feels used and betrayed, and the school turns against Buck with him.
