Blake Anderson
Blake Anderson is a widower, the father of Jill, and a gentle companion to Eileen Sellars. His growing relationship with Eileen worries her son Zachary, who still grieves his father's death and resents the possibility of change. Blake does not force his way into the family. He shares an awkward dinner, laughs at himself after pulling a muscle at a pitching machine, and keeps offering patient kindness when Zachary remains cold. On the birthday of Zachary's father, Blake drives Eileen and her son two hours to the cemetery, then waits quietly by the car so they can grieve together. Thoughtful and respectful, Blake shows that moving forward does not require forgetting someone who was loved.
