Miss Barfield

Miss Barfield is the sister of Spencer Barfield, a former caretaker of the Fillmore Recreation Center who disappeared after a 1946 bank robbery. She never accepts the official claim that her brother was the thief. When Whit and Jami reopen the mystery, her grief and confidence in Spencer help them question the closed case. The investigation uncovers stolen money buried beneath the building and draws former bank manager Fenwick out of hiding. He admits organizing the robbery and having Spencer killed because he saw too much. Miss Barfield has already radioed police, ensuring Fenwick cannot escape after his confession. Her loyalty helps clear her brother's name decades after greed cost an innocent man his life.
