Ashley

Ashley is an energetic Odyssey girl who accepts Whit's challenge to use twenty-five dollars constructively. She turns the money into a neighborhood bicycle repair business, showing initiative and a willingness to work. Her plans become less responsible when she also supplies children with sock-launchers for a huge mud battle. Worse, she forgets to tighten a wheel after repairing a boy's bicycle. Ashley races through the flying mud to warn him, but she cannot prevent his fall. She returns to Whit with empty pockets and a hard lesson about responsibility. Although her experiment does not earn a profit, Ashley learns that making the most of an opportunity involves care for the people affected by her choices.
