Ara Sung-Hoon

Ara Sung-Hoon is Ji-ho's younger sister and the daughter of Colonel Kim Sung-Hoon. Raised in a closed country, she enjoys the privileges of her father's rank and has learned to fear anything labeled enemy propaganda. When a forbidden Christian broadcast appears on Ji-ho's radio, Ara panics, demands that he turn it off, and threatens to report him. She later discovers his hidden Bible and pleads with him to stop before his faith destroys their family. Ara loves her brother, but fear and loyalty to the familiar system make his choices almost impossible for her to understand. Her struggle shows how oppression can teach ordinary people to defend the very restrictions that keep them from truth and freedom.
