Anastasia

Anastasia is a seer who lives in a cottage near Walton Stone in Maris, marked by a red palm. Although Sister Leona warned Anna against mediums, Anastasia finds the stranded girl, shelters her kindly, and lets her telephone Darien's family. She recognizes Anna's mismatched eyes as a sign that the Unseen One has chosen her. Later, Anastasia offers to help Kyle return home until she senses that he too is chosen and reacts with fear. Forced by King Lawrence, she calls up the dead Old Judge, whose warning condemns the king's disobedience. Mysterious and spiritually compromised, Anastasia can show compassion, but her dealings with forbidden powers leave her frightened when she encounters people genuinely connected to the Unseen One.
