Al Davis

Al Davis is Jack Davis's father, and he knows his son's old habit of telling tall tales. When Jack reports finding a mysterious van, hidden cave, and injured Officer Harley near Trickle Lake, Al joins Whit and Jack's mother in driving out to investigate. The entire scene has vanished: there is no van, motorcycle, or tire track. Remembering earlier exaggerations, Al concludes that Jack invented the adventure and does not recognize the danger his son faces. Criminals then exploit that disbelief by threatening Jack into withdrawing his story. Al's mistake shows how damaged trust can hide the truth when it finally matters. His skepticism has understandable history behind it, but Jack desperately needs one adult willing to look beyond his reputation and keep investigating.
